At 2-1/2 years old, my niece Nora is a very impatient little girl. A few months ago she threw a fit over something, so I sat her down and said, "Nora, a very wise man named Axl Rose once sang about something called 'patience.'"

"Patience?" she said, looking at me wide-eyed.

"Yes," I replied, "Ooh ooh, patience."

Since then, every time she gets a little antsy, I tell her that Axl Rose would be very disappointed in her behavior. She never really responds when I say this, so I didn't think it was sinking in... until today, that is.

She told me that she had to go downstairs and play in her playroom "right now!!!!" so I turned to her and said, "Nora, what did we learn about patience?"

"That Axl Rose would be very disappointed in me right now," she said.
